Summary of project scope

The project is for the assessment of Transnet Freight Rails’ infrastructure assets on four main lines, namely: 

ï Ermelo to Vryheid
ï Groenbult to Tzaneen
ï Saldana to Sischen
ï Rooikop to Newcastle

The assets that were assessed includes track superstructure and substructure, culverts, bridges, tunnels, network related buildings, level crossings, colour light signalling etc.

A sample of the above listed infrastructure were inspected in each main line and the condition reported in order to contribute to the overall maintenance plan.
